Our History
Red Lion Christian School was established under Pastor Ronald Schmuck in 1970 as an outreach of Red Lion Bible Church. In1969, Pastor Schmuck approached Lucille Shea and asked her to take on the task of establishing a kindergarten. There were18 children enrolled in the first kindergarten class. Initially a daycare facility, the school began adding classes, and in1979 its first senior class of three students graduated. The faculty and staff has had the privilege of watching over 360 students graduate over the last 50 years. The Lord has blessed this ministry in so many ways. We are thankful for the teachers and the thousands of children He has supplied over the years to keep the ministry strong. “God blessed and gave the increase” (I Corinthians 3:6,7) The school is housed in the facilities of the Red Lion Bible Church. The grounds also include a gymnasium, playground, ball field, and an in-ground pool for use by Summer Day Care. We always will be thankful for Pastor Schmuck for following the Holy Spirit’s leading and how he kept the right priorities over the years.
“One of the highlights of my ministry has been the Christian school. As the Sunday School is an arm of the church, so is the Christian school a vital part of the church. There are many precious memories that most of us have from our school years. My one hope for the boys and girls in this school is that the Word of God will be precious in their lives as it is presented and studied day by day. I pray that this will be a most wonderful memory for them. We at Red Lion Christian School want our students to know more than how to make a living. We want them to know how to live.” Pastor Ronald Schmuck (1929-2011)

STATEMENT OF FAITH
We believe the Bible is the verbally inspired word of God, inerrant and preserved by God in the English language as we have it today, known as the King James 1611 Bible and that it is the supreme and final authority in faith and life. (II Peter 1:20; II Tim. 3:16)
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Deut. 6:4)
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory. (Luke 1:35)
We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God; that man sinned and thereby incurred both physical and spiritual death; and that all humans are born with a sinful nature and are sinners in thought, word, and deed. (Romans 3:23)
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, as our representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood. (I Cor. 5:3)
We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit, and thereby become children of God; that they are indwelt and sealed of the Holy Spirit and are secure in Him until the day of redemption. (John 1:12)
We believe the Gospel message is simple enough for a small child to understand and to respond to it. (Matt. 19:14)
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just, the everlasting blessedness of the saved and the everlasting punishment of the lost. (John 5:28, 29)
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
We recognize that within the body of believers there are differences of opinion on various doctrinal views. Students enrolled at Red Lion Christian School will be taught in accordance with the views stated above; however, we will not force any child to conform to views that are contrary to what has been taught in the home. On the other hand, neither will we alter teaching to compromise on any issue.
